Wah Kee // Best Curry Skewers

Wah Kee: Skewers

Wah Kee Snack Food Shop
Address: Kundamal House, 4 Prat Ave, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong
Price: $

If you are looking for a quick bite while touring the streets, Hong Kong has a large variety of open front stores and street vendors that sell delicious street snacks you can pick up to eat while walking. Our favorite spot for grabbing a quick, yummy skewer is Wah Kee Snack 華記小食.

Wah Kee: Storefront

If you ever are in the Tsim Sha Tsui area, you will definitely walk by or be somewhere near Wah Kee. Wah Kee is located on a very busy corner at Prat Avenue and Hart Ave not too far from the K11 shopping mall in Tsim Sha Tsui and only 2 blocks off of Nathan Rd. The shop is open at late hours so their skewers make for the perfect midnight snack.

Wah Kee: Store

The stall offers plenty of different type of skewers most of which are $10HKD to $30HKD (they accept cash only).

Wah Kee: Skewers

They have a wide range of selection from innards to grilled meats, meatballs, seafood balls, and sausages as well as classic Hong Kong curry fishballs and shumais.

Wah Kee: Grill

Some are prepared on a grill while others are chilled and some steamed in broth or sauce.

Wah Kee: Assorted Skewers

Our favorites are the curry squid, cheese cocktail franks, and the curry fish balls. These curry items have been bathed in curry for so long that you can taste it without it being served in sauce.

Wah Kee: Beef Skewer

The grilled beef skewer is also very good. The meat is seasoned and easy to eat on the go. But when asked if you want to have it served with spicy sauce, unless you have extremely high tolerance for spicy food, skip out on the sauce or ask for just a few drops.

There are many other vendors and shops like this all over Hong Kong that you will walk by and for the most part they are all pretty budget friendly so don’t be afraid to have at it and try different things each time!
