Hong Kong

TRAVEL GUIDE

Delectable dim sum, floating islands, and a one-of-a-kind skyline are just some of Hong Kong’s unique features. Get an eyeful of traditional Chinese architecture in Ngong Ping village, then take the tram to the tippity-top of Victoria Peak for unparalleled views. The rocks and gentle hills of Nan Lian Garden will bring you inner peace, as will a calming cup of tea in a Stanley café. Become one with everything at the Chi Lin Nunnery, a serene Buddhist complex.

What We Love About Hong Kong

Again and again, we find ourselves longing to return to Hong Kong and surely, we our reasons why.

THE FOOD

While Hong Kong can’t claim to have the most unique variety of food, they sure can boast about the quality, history, and craftsmanship that goes into every one of their dishes. Something as simple as a Char Siu Bao (barbecue pork bun) can be enjoyed on a whole other level thanks the better quality of the contents, crispier texture of the bun, and the thought that went into the craft (yes, we’re talking about you, Tim Ho Wan). Let us not even go into the roast goose, fried oyster omelette, skewers, broths, and everything in between. Check out our food recommendations below for mouth watering photos and details.

THE METRO

Coming from New York City, where the subway systems are filthy, loud, slow, outdated and for the lack of better word, somewhat wild, Hong Kong’s underground metro system to us, is a gem. Adorned with current technology, safety glass, and a clean environment, the MTR is by far our favorite metro system.

THE VIEW

When you’re in Hong Kong, one minute you can be looking at a stunning skyline and the next, you can be enjoying a serene, mountainous view. The surroundings of Hong Kong is the perfect blend of urban mixed with nature which makes it the perfect destination for one to enjoy sightseeing without traveling far from the center of the city.
